What a way to celebrate St David's Day! The Levels Academy Trust organised a trip to the Big Pit at Blaenavon, South Wales, for both Hambridge and Huish Episcopi Primary Schools. The trip included the wearing of miner hats with torches to go 90m down a mine and experience what it would have been like for small children, pit ponies (who stayed down there all year apart from 2 weeks!) and the miners themselves. Luckily they call came out as clean as whistles and didn't need to use the showers! A big thank you to all the staff at Big Pit for an incredible day and their wonderful sense of humour.
